The Nintendo Wii U video game console released on November 18, 2012, in the USA with its asymmetrical gameplay promising to marry traditional and tablet gaming. Computerworld and Gamebits editor Ken Gagne offers this video of the unboxing and initial setup. Timestamps courtesy YouTube user SluttyLawyer:

0:00 – 8:04: Unboxing
8:05 – 9:40: Plugging it in
9:41 – 16:14: Initial setup
16:15 – 18:06: Wi-Fi setup
18:07 – 20:02: Profile creation
20:53 – 22:19: Parental controls
23:17 – 26:35: System settings

I eventually did get the 1GB system update downloaded, upgrading my console from 1.0.1 to 2.0.0, enabling SD and USB storage devices, necessary for the transfer of Wii data. And my mistake, the system DOES have a stylus in the rear of the GamePad. Maybe if you still Cannot find on the Wii U transfer tool on the Wii U, then maybe you need to use the data transfer tool on the original Wii.

Time sure flies by. I originally subscribed to you after watching these next gen unboxing videos back in 2013. I was just scrolling through my subscriptions list and I saw your username for the first time in years. Such a nostalgic feeling watching these videos like I did as a junior high student waiting to get a PS4 for Christmas

Ah, the Wii U. It was not the best, but definetly not the worst. I love this console, and I have so much memories of it. Just going to the basement playing Nintendo land, or NSMBU, it was so fun. Plus, you didn't have to pay $100 for every single game(I'm looking at you switch). It had a more nintendo charm to it than the switch! The Eshop, menu, Mii maker, and other stuff had music, and cool sound effects. The Switch just keeps it bland, and boring. Not to mention the ports. Some of the ports are amazing, some examples are Mario Kart, Hyrule Warriors, and others are just plain bad, like NSMBUD. It was also the last Nintendo console that had Satoru Iwata's work in it(rest in peace Satoru Iwata. May we never forget you). And to quicken things up, let's go over the the things the Wii U does better than the Switch. Virtual Console, backwards compatibility, 2 screens at the same time, 3d Sonic, no joy con drift, online, no friend codes, homebrew, mii's, Eshop, Web browser, Miiverse, and that's just to name a few. All-in-all, the Wii U is my all-time favorite console ever.
