Nokia N-GAGE Buying Guide – Do You Remember this thing!?

The Nokia N-Gage was a failed cell phone / gaming handheld that crashed and burned with only 58 physical games released for it. However, there is a small but dedicated collecting community for it and The Immortal John Hancock happens to have a complete N-Gage collection. Plus he also shows us some of the handheld variations, different packaging, game highlights, preview and press editions and even a very rare N-Gage demo kiosk used at Gamestop!

Games Shown:
Ashen
Asphalt Urban GT
Civilization
Elder Scrolls Travels – Shadowkey
Pathway to Glory
Pocket Kingdom
Red Faction
Sega Rally Championship
Tony Hawk Pro Skater
Worms Wold Party
X-Men Legends II

I love n-gage! I had one and just let it go for iPhone … It was the best phone ever. Xperia play was second. Shame there is nothing like this anymore 🙁

That elder scrolls game on ngage is actually better than what we have on modern mobile phones.

What the hell was this guy showing us? For Elder Scrolls, he literally showed us wall gameplay. Show us what the scenery and characters look like, what the hell. It's like he was showing us wall decor. A room simulator. Foh.

I had the Ngage QD and lots of good memories with it. Asphalt, Tony Hawk, SonicN, Ashen were all awesome games. The downsides though are the crappy speakers and the buttons were kinda stiff it hurts playing for a while. I was so lucky to have had one. No other phone compares to this.

Ngage was so ahead of its time! I remember saving up as a kid and I was the only one that had it but boy it was so futuristic

Ngage at the time much before Apple and iPhones was really a thing. I wouldn’t consider it a failure but it couldn’t compete against the Nintendo DS

I was seriously considering an N-Gage back in about 04/05 but when I asked the cell phone salesman about it he told me to stay away and just stick to a regular phone, considering he was working on commission that was all I needed to hear.

Was just browsing through the instruction book of my copy of Battlefront 2 and it mentioned this in in the back of the handbook.

You would think Nokia's attempt at making a portable game console would be a disaster but this looks awesome. I really want one.

    I. LOVED. MY. N’QD!!!

Games were fun, and the “What kind of phone is that?” attention was cool too. The apps were amazing, I felt like I was in the future haha. *It got me and my friend fired though. We cut lawns, and at a community pool (that was closed for the season) we’d go into the women’s bathroom because of the dual toilet stalls, and play Tony Hawk. Eventually we were caught and fired. But man that phone was cool!

    X-Men Legends 2 on N-Gage was alright…

…Until you find out the PSP version is a direct console port with bonus features.
