Should You Buy A Bandai Wonderswan In 2018?

Should you buy a Wonderswan in 2018? The Bandai Wonderswan was originally released in 1999 and was followed by two upgraded revisions: the Wonderswan Color and SwanCrystal. Featuring IPs such as Mega Man (both Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man and Bass games), Digimon, Klanoa, and more, it’s hard to believe that this system never made it out of Japan. Thus, today we’re deciding if Bandai’s little console is worth tracking down in this Wonderswan buying guide!

It is 16 bits. All models are 16 bits. Not 8 bits.

(It’s ok, we all mess up!)

Swan Crystal is expensive but worth the money. Color has a great speaker and Wonderswan original has superb battery life with a Li AA. I know I may get some hate but Wonderswan has some cool shooters and Fighter games like One Piece .

Great Video! Wonderswan is an underappreciated console, I remember talking about it in game mags back when it was new and wishing we would get a version in the states. It has a ton of great RPGs that are pretty hard to play without Japanese fluency, and some neat tactics games!

Klonoa: Moonlight Museum is a great puzzle platformer (and the basis for the GBA games) and probably my "Must have" for the system.

Can you review clock tower? It's on SNES and it was re-released on the PS1, PC, and WonderSwan. It's an amazing game. 😉

Jamessss! Are the Color and Crystal games backwards compatible with the b/w WonderSwan?

That Athena no Seinto game is winking at me all kinds of romantic things.

I vaguely remember this system in the late 90’s early 2000 but I was never able to get my hands on one. It’s always awesome to see retro systems with so many capabilities in their time. I would love to get my hands on one nowadays, it would be such an awesome addition to the collection.
