Xbox One in 2020 – worth buying? (Review)

The Xbox One will soon be retired with the Xbox Series X coming at the end of 2020- but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not worth it. Should you buy the $200 Xbox One?

This 2013 console might just be worth the pickup for you right now, especially because of that ~$200 price point.

What was your favorite game of the generation?

I'd totally say that Xbox One S is worth it, even in 2020. Xbox One X, on the other hand, is not worth it anymore; despite the fact it's more powerful than the Xbox One S, it's still an Xbox One – a console of this generation. Better save for the Xbox Series X. I have been playing games on my Xbox One S since May of 2017, and games look gorgeous on it. It's actually better than the PlayStation 4 Slim, as the Xbox One S supports HDR (High Dynamic Range) and upscaling at 4K.

Even though that new generation of consoles are coming soon, the Xbox One family is not like the Xbox 360 family, which had a 2005 hardware and had gotten really underpowered by the end of 2015. The Xbox One will continue receiving games for many years to come I'm sure. Microsoft had taken a wrong step with the first Xbox One console but with the release of Xbox One S and X, it has taken right steps and is now going in a right direction.

Seeing as I finally got a good deal on a nice 4K TV I finally got an Xbox One X seeing as I'm already using game pass ultimate on my PC. I managed to snag one (used, 3 months old) with warranty and controller for 199 including shipping. Seeing as I wanted a 4K Bluray player anyway (even before the launch of the Series X) and already use gamepass… I just got myself an ultrahd bluray player that also plays 230 games instantly accessible for 199 bucks. May just be the best deal I've found this year ;p

I wouldn't buy any current gen consoles at this point. Just play what you have for now and get the new consoles this November.

Laughably cheap? $230 is still a good chunk of money to spend on something that's about to be outdated. And that's the S model. Xbox One X are still going for $350-$400. I still don't have an Xbox One and at this point its better to wait until the series X comes out, so prices will go down. Everyone who wants the new one will be selling their old consoles for cheap.

In my opinion,XB is good if you’re into multiple FPS & Zombie games. Other than that, the library is bland. Also, the Controllers are so poorly made. I don’t button mash and have been through 6 controllers over the past year mostly from drifting and bumper button issues.

    Just buy a switch.

Xbox is the best gaming console on the market hands down. Remember the first xbox 360… remember the red rings of death. If you bought a 360 when they came out, then you experienced the red rings of death. Here is why i will only ever have xbox, and my 3-kids will only be allowed to have xbox (as long as there living with dad)

Xbox lost there asses on the red rings of death. But they fixed every console mailed to them, and returned every console fixed to the gamer. At one point I had 3-consoles at Xbox being fixed. But they lost like 30million or something, plus they were selling consoles for I believe like $300 that was costing them $400 to make.

But because xbox is american owned company (Bill Gates) they were more worried about there customers than there bottom dollar, and rather than going bankrupt like any other company would of, they took there losses like Pro's made things right with there customers, and came back with a vengeance.

Ya, u guys can keep ur Nintendos, and Playstation. This all American boy only plays XBOX!

I'm new to purchasing gaming consoles since like the year Wii U came out. I want to familiarize myself with other gaming consoles since I want to purchase a big, new 65 inch TV. On the other hand. I am more familiar with playing on portable gaming systems such as the ones that are on phones. I need help on getting a console as a starter, which is why I am making these statements.

I will buy an Xbox One S next week. For the current price and my 1080p TV setup it'll do just fine. Games I am looking forward to play are Witcher III, Assassins Creed, Red Dead Redemption 2 and the occasional title from whatever is included in the Gamepass. I think for the current price (249 Euros on Amazon for the Star Wars: Jedi Night Fallen Order Bundle) I can't go wrong and I really don't want to spend the extra cost for an Xbox One X without a proper 4k Gamingmonitor setup and the System X coming out soon (which I wont buy straight away).
I watched countless review and "worth it in 2020" videos for the One S and I never seen any negative one. Decent console for a good price, and as I am geting older (in my 50s) I want to get away from PC on to my couch, kick up the old legs and play immersive Open World Type games mostly, all of which my old PC can't handle anymore.

So, prove me wrong but the series x will be just a big trash can that when you throw your trash in it, it gives you a new game.
