In certain titles, loading times do improve significantly. The Last of Us was a clear example of that. Before Naughty Dog patched the PS4 version to improve load times even on HDDs, the PS3 was faster loading a save file in TLoU with an SDD compared to a PS4 with just an HDD. GTA V also sees an improvement in loading times and texture streaming. Mainly games which have lots of texture streaming either due to the massive amount of detail or because of a large open world will absolutely benefit from that SSD. It's so nice to see people who upload videos about the PS3 and you've made a nice video here for sure. Greetings from MV btw.

Because I love PS3 Cause you can play great games and some still playable online vs others or multi! Then no subscription to go online 🙂 so yeah we love PS3

I would recommend buying a super slim as the disc drive is less likely to break due to it being a top loader with no moving parts and some super slims having better processors.

God job! Can you please explain more about changing the HDD for an SSD? What capacity should I choose? How can I transfer games that are in the HDD to SSD?
And can I download free games if I had internet?

I use one in my camper for camping and road trips. It's mounted vertical on the side of a closet right under the TV. It plays blurays and DVDs excellent, you disconnect the power to the camper and move it the Blu-ray and DVD pick right up where you left off. We stream YouTube, Netflix, Amazon prime through a hotspot. Play games anywhere and during road trips you find yard sales with PS3 and DVDs for a few bucks each. It will play audio cds as well. Best thing ever.

Who cares about the launch, it's about the games. Where else can you play Gran Turismo 6 or Metal gear solid the legacy collection? The PS3 is a gem.

Buyer beware: you will hop on the ps3 expecting nostalgic energy, but will be disappointed instead

PS2 backwards compatibility can be restored to a respectable level on the slim consoles. But that involves doing a soft jail break which I'm not ashamed of doing. I own legal copies of my favourite PS2 games (NFS Underground 2 🤩) and a pc with a DVD drive. I got my super slim for 50 euros. I'm not paying stupid amounts on eBay for a FAT version to die on me real soon.

Bought a modified PS3 Slim in January of this year, best decision ever as PS3 games (both 1st and 3rd party) are great and memorable to me. Along with my modified PS Vita Slim and PSP Go, I'm quite satisfied as with it.

I used to have a PS3 slim until like 6 years ago when the hard disk died, and it wouldn't work without updating, and updating wouldn't work until the hard disk was repaired

I only have 4 systems for games these days, the PS3 being one of them.

    – PS3 60GB Japanese launch model with full PS2 hardware – 1TB HDD upgrade and CFW (to avoid PS2 region locks). Where I play my PS3 and PS2 games.
    – Xbox 360 Slim – 1TB HDD upgrade and the RGH mod (to boost compatibility with the classic Xbox). Where I play my Xbox 360 and classic Xbox games.
    – PS Vita Slim – 128GB SD card upgrade and CFW (to have SD card support and full PSP/PS1 compatibility). Where I play my PS1, PSP and PS Vita games.
    – PC for modern games because Sony & Microsoft are on Steam.

I'm pretty happy with the results, there are only 2 classic Xbox exclusive games I want that don't work at all but other than that, every other game I want I can play using one of these systems. And we are talking about nearly 500 games, so a small price to pay to have a clean setup like this.

I put a 500GB HDD back in my ps3 slim. SSD only makes XMB go faster. I put 1TB SSD in my PS4 pro and wow. However PlayStation games are capped at fps. SSD doesn't make better fps but faster load times and installs. The real only way to get stable 30 or 60 fps is to lower the ps4 pro to 1080p.
