i no longer have a nintendo but i still got my r4 cards with all the games in them, i honestly think i wanna buy one once i'll have my own money since i'm still 17 so i hope it will eventually recognize the cards, it would be sick to revisit some of those games i used to play like a decade ago, i'd literally cry

As I am currently playing Super Mario World Super Mario Advance 2 on my DS Lite, I still feel like they are worth it in 2022. Just for GBA, it is superior to any official way to physically play GBA from Nintendo with cartridges and hardware. For DS, the battery life is great, and seems to last forever if tucked into a drawer for months on end without a charge. Admittedly, there are better ways to play DS games if you don't want to play GBA or use DS accessories like the Rumble Pak or the Guitar Hero thing. Overall, it is a truly beautiful system, lightweight, and easy to carry, also cheaper than most GBA SP 101s, for GBA players, although the DS can not play GB or GBC games.

I got the DS Lite Guitar Hero Edition, and it's a REALLY cool story how got it. Our local recycle center has a section where you can leave equipment and technology that you want to discard but which is still functional, and then others can take them if they want. I went there once and there was a Nintendo DS lite GH edition, with the Guitar Hero grip and game (as well as Harry Potter 5 and nintendogs), and I saw it at the same time as another man, and Instead of both of us lunging at it, we decided to have a guitar duel on the DS and the winner would keep the DS. I played on expert and he played on medium, so obviously my score was higher. I can't remember which song we played but I think it was Heaven. I told him that it was unfair of me to play on expert since that obviously increases the score, but he said that me playing on expert obviously means I'm the better guitarist, and he let me keep it. I gave him Nintendogs though, for his niece. I felt a bit bad for basically winning the DS off of his niece, but he assured me she already had a DSi (in pink!), so I guess we all sort of won. It was a really fun interaction and definetily the best, most authentic guitar hero experience I've ever had on any console. Now I've ordered the Band Hero drumskin/game and the Easy Piano module, so I'll have all the band peripherals!

Had to sell my ds lite years ago, and just got my replacement from eBay today! I’m just so glad to see other people give a hoot about this really fun system!

I have 2 ds's (ones broken) and a dsi, a 2ds and new 3ds. The only time I go back to the ds is for nostalgia, but I prefer the dsi over it, but usually go for the 3ds.

My friend had one of these with some weird cartridge that allowed him to basically download whatever games he wanted and play them. It was pretty cool. Thinking about getting one and trying to find that cart!

It's almost 4am and my hand is just itching and I can't sleep because as I was cleaning earlier in the day I found my Pokémon Diamond, Sapphire and HeartGold and I just wanna play them so bad as well as a ton of other games I know are somewhere in my room… God, when I get paid in a few days it will be so hard to resist, oh no.

I remember my ds lite it was the soul survivor of my family but then my brothers got mad at me and threw my ds against the wall. Right now I'm collecting all Pokemon games so I'm trying to find a ds lite.

My mom and I bought two ds lite back in mid 2007 (which I was only 7 y/o at that time)

When you’re tired of smartphone era, it is possible to regress back in 2000s
