Nintendo Switch in 2022 – worth buying? (Review)

The Nintendo Switch is awesome- and 5 years old. With the OLED model recently released at $350, the original Switch at $300, and the Switch Lite at $200, which one is worth it for you?

Alright- here’s the important question! What’s your favorite game on Nintendo Switch?

I have the original Nintendo switch and it was definitely worth buying in 2021. I almost had it a year.

Things to remember : Inflation. What things that you know of still cost the same in 2022 as it did in 2017? There in lies the price reduction that we would normally be able to put our fingers on.

I have a switch I got in 2019 and it runs perfectly and no joy con drift. Also in early 2020 I got the pro controller, which is a great investment and I would recommend it to anyone! But in games like fortnite the switch does not perform as well as the ps4 or ps5 or x box.

I want Nintendo to make a home console ONLY version of the switch (with a pro controller) for no more than 200$. Many people I know want the same and have no need or desire to pay for the handheld feature if they aren't going to use it.

Thank you for this, My son loves his au ts switch and I'm saving up for one for his birthday I just knew nothing about them and wasn't sure which one to get. I think I'm going for the traditional 2019 version although I'm worried he will lose the joycons

I was never able to find anything good to play except a few exclusives, all the ported games look and run pretty poorly imo. Not bad for a handheld, but OLD games are the best for it imo. New ones, not so much.

Not worth it even the so-called SWITCH OLED .. what a joke. Same hardware like the version before and playing at 30 fps and below, meanwhile PS5 and Xbox series X have 60 fps.

Didn't get to play many super mario games or zelda games now that I'm adult and have a switch I put my Xbox down and enjoying the switch glad they brought back alot old skool gamez from different consoles so it's a win for me especially when the games are way cheaper compared to Xbox or playstation when they release gamez.

I bought the switch and it was amazing until I realized games are far more expensive, limited on the switch, and I prefer my PC. It sits in the corner of my room now and I want to sell it. If you have to debate getting it, I wouldn't get it at all. Edit: I'd literally only get it if you're obsessed with specific games like animal crossing and want portability.

I just bought the regular Switch on sale on Amazon for £230.00. So, they do indeed go on sale now later in the year.

Actually if you go in a shop that sells second hand consoles I’ve found that you can get one in mint condition for around £110 to £190 in London I can’t remember what the price was originally when it came out but I recon this is pretty cheap for a switch

In my opinion the best consoles to have are Xbox and Nintendo, especially if you have a PC too. Nintendo you get all of their exclusives and an awesome experience. Xbox if you get game pass you will have access to any game you can name pretty much, and the PC has more of those too.

I have the original switch and although I don't plan on upgrading to the new switch, I'm planning to get a battery replacement. I've had mine since 2018 and I bring it everywhere. It's gone from around 4 hours on average to 1 1/2, maybe 2 hours at best. But really, the switch it a really unique console, my first in fact, and I've really loved it the entire time I've had it! Even now, I think it's a great choice!

I only bought the oled because I wanted to experience owning my first nintendo console ever (growing up I mostly own only PlayStation consoles) and I'm loving my oled, despite still feeling alienated to it. God eater 3 and monster hunter rise were also the trigger that pulled me into buying the oled
