PlayStation 4 in 2022 – worth it? (Review)

The PS4 is 9 years old, but is still being made today as the PS5 is near impossible to find- except, the PS4 Slim is also near impossible to find. How does the PlayStation 4 hold up in 2022?

Alright, time to settle this once and for all…
What was the best PlayStation 4 game ever made?

I just hate the design of the PS5. I'll be fine with my PS4 PRO with a 4 TB SSD until a new revision of the PS5 comes out.

i got the original ps4 console a few months back for 100$… Can't read discs, airplane noises… practically a digital console, lol. Had to buy a new controller, but worth the money, I think… PS5 is not the necessity for me right now. Looks awesome on my 40 inch 1080p tv… Be content with what you have, unless you can REALLY afford a ps5 with a huge ass tv.

A friend from work got his hands on a PS5 and I was able to convince him to sell me his PS4. I was able to get it for $100 w/ 2 controllers. Couldn’t say no to that. Especially since I already had a series x for next gen.

Simple answer is yes, but you can’t play the ps5 game (obviously) but there have only been 19 million copies of the ps5 console but on the other hand the ps4 has about 111 million consoles sold world wide so stay on the ps4 until the most of the player base is playing ps5 like your friends but if say all your friends play ps5 but you have a ps4 if they are good friends that will be in your side no matter sure move to play with them but not every ps4 you can play on the ps5 because they need to make a ps5 version of the game.

Well yeah sure, the PS5 is more worth it when you can actually find one in a retail store for it’s intended MSRP price.

I'm playing "The Last Of Us 2" on the PS4 destiny 2 edition beautiful console BTW, and the game plays really well, having HDR capabilities really elevate the total experience. I'm actually shocked how good it still looks on this old machine👍

I agree that there's no finding any new PS4. I got a loose, refurbished PS4 Pro that I paid € 320 in March 2022. The only bundled PS4s that you can find are unsold items that pop up from time to time and are sold at prohibitive prices which doesn't stop them from being gone in seconds.

I got a "broken" PS4 Slim at a pawn shop for $90 a few months ago. I took it home and the only thing wrong was the disk drive. I purchased a replacement one from ifixit and now I have a fully working PS4 Slim for about $145 total. It's my first Sony console since I had a PS3 in 2009-2011 and then sold it to get a gaming PC in 2011. I'm really enjoying the Sony exclusives I missed the past decade.

I found a 127 dollar White 500GB PS4 Slim from Mercari in February of 2022 just to play the PlayStation exclusives I missed out last gen because I’ve had a Xbox One for the whole generation and it’s not a bad little machine.

Can’t put forth the energy to get a PS5, but luckily my original base model PS4 is still going strong.

I have a base PS4 and a mid-range PC i5-7400, GTX 1060 6 GB, 40 GB of RAM, but that struggles a lot with new games so I decided to buy Xbox Series S so I can run those new next-gen games. I plan to buy PS5 Pro in the future.

PS 4 is my worst nightmare lately. It wants a 4 digit code in order for me to even be able to use the controller. I've never had this happen before. Four digit passcode is different from my passcode that I have to type in which is a much longer word with symbols and numbers. I was using my Samsung A51 as a hotspot, but for some reason or another my PlayStation 4 does not recognize and has locked me out. One last thing before I lost the connection I had used the camera and said that face recognition, but this doesn't matter because I'm still locked out. I'm beginning to resent PlayStation 4 more everyday. First of all I was halfway through downloading God of War and they just snatched it away from me saying that I need the license or something like that I'm not for sure. It was supposed to be one of the free games. That was a lie. Now my PS4 is a brick and I can't seem to unlock it. It would be nice if I could go online and unlock it. Where in the hell is the PlayStation personnel that we used to be able to call on the telephone. PlayStation has gotten too greedy. It's made me seriously think about quitting for good. I will miss it but I am stressing out.
