I’ve played Gen 1 Pokemon about a million times in my life, so you could say I’m somewhat of an expert on optimal strategy. Plus, we have a ton of fun along the way!

A short list of things that were quite questionable…

1, names (big pecker, flasher, the shocker)

    2, the trade of spearow
Him "enjoy big pecker, little girl!"

    3, the magnemite convo
Him "he's s freaking weirdo, and I'm into that sometimes "

    💀💀💀💀🤣🤣🤣

In the Elite 4 I always had:

    Pikachu
    Zapdos
    Vaporeon
    Charizard
    Hypno
    Golem

    I destroyed them everytime.

I was really surprised with the choice of Squirtle… I had no idea that that was the best choice! All these years, I was convinced that it was Bulbasaur! :0 And I tried runs with all three starters!

I'm a spaniard. My rival is always called "Putas" in this game.

Because when you visit the mailbox at his home, it says "Casa de putas" which basically means "Whorehouse". A brothel essentially.

i hate trying to catch Abra, i just buy it from the game corner. it is amazing you can get Alakazam by level 16 and not even have your 2nd gym badge.

Seismic Toss I throw on Jynx, with Lovely kiss it become a capture sleep pokemon.
Abra for Mr. Mime is odd when Abra has the better Special even before evolving.

Dodrio is basically a Tauros that can fly. Both normal types work well as they are immune to the secondary effects of normal moves and won't get paralysed by any bodyslams.

I prefer Bulbasaur as the BEST starter of the 3 and Charmander as the WORST not counting Pikachu in Pokemon YELLOW.

In a game if you do get to join team rocket you get either a zubat, rattata, or a ekans as your starter pokemon.

Recap (entering Misty's gym): Yeah, it normally takes about 2 hours to get here.

Me (about to enter Mt. Moon after 5 hours): Yeah, totally.

My brother came up with the best rival name when he was a kid. "Buttaco". Not only is it a combination of "butt" and "taco", it sounds like buttocks.
