Something else I loved about about borderlands 2 is that it encourages you to do side missions by making enemies level up faster than you

I was house sitting fir a friend and they had an X-Box with the Borderlands game and damn it I was hooked in the franchise and others like it. Nothing else scratches that itch. From the Fallout series. I live for these types of games.

The game does look ageless but an awesome upgrade would be to port the game to the new engine. The worst thing about Bl2 is that that guns don't pack a lot of punch.

I think one of the biggest reasons why i liked borderlands pre sequel more than 2 is drop rate. 2 gave me blues, almost no purples, and almost no legendaries, even with bosses. Hate time sink grinding, which i didnt have in pre sequel, as much more purples and legendaries, even a few from badasses walking around.

Embarrassingly, I’m brand new to the borderlands. Now I’m obsessed.

    Here’s how it went.

    1. Bought Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
    2. Bought Borderlands 3

    Amazing. Blown away.

Should I get borderlands 2 ? The handsome pack is on sale on Xbox store for $10!

But I really want to get borderlands 1 goty edition too.

Is there any reason to play 1 before 2 and 3? Is 2 better than 1.

This game has that alright what weapon am I going to use against Terra? Should I go conferance call because he's big, or should I go for a sawbar because I do splash damage? Fastball or Storm Front? That setup and the many options (although maybe not as balanced as it probably should be) is great. Even a gun like the crappy seeker is good on gaige because it homes in on enemies on a character who loses accuracy but gains more damage by shooting boxes. She has some great guns that were already great, but both Kreig and Gaige makes guns that don't seem to work on anyone, work great on them. I like that design because it's obscure and the player has to figure out what gun is good on x character or how the a certain gun works in combination were certain character skills. It's Halo or Call of Duty meeting up with Diablo or an RPG like Diablo. And them come the references, races (Torgue dlc side mission), raid bosses, side quests, action skills, coop, the peak, story, challenges, ng+ modes such as true vault hunter and ultimate vault hunter modes. And tyen there are small things like gambling, sightseeing, watching a play over at the holiday dlc, Mrs. Torgue's raid boss story, the weapon grinder in the Highlands, the Altar at the Handsome Sorcerer's Castle which talks to you.
The enemy variety has unique mechanics everywhere despite being a shooter, almost every enemy is trying their best to kill you in a different way. People use shields, stealth, grenades, suicide bombers, flame throwers, snipers, bullet reflection, barrels, speed, by being small, etc.
    Truly an outstanding game.

meanwhile in borderlands 3 i have to mute the dialogue because the main antagonists are so cringy that it ruins the game for me

Borderlands 2 is quite simply the most re-playable masterpiece I've played since first gaming back in 1982. One can play through three times (normal, vault, ultimate) on one character and then play through those with another five characters. Notwithstanding that each of these characters have different abilities, making each play through uniquely different due to the different approach needed, the random loot generator gives you that Christmas day as a child feel at all times – the anticipation of a surprise.

The character writing, witty dialogue and voice acting immerse you further. Which brings me to the DLCs, which not only bring further loot rewards but introduce a lot of emotion into the script when Tiny Tina has her turn at expanding her character. Did I mention the guns? The sheer variety of guns and their necessity with different bosses often takes you off story for a farm and these farms are highly relaxing affairs where the anticipation of something such as a DPUH or even a super rare shield such as the 94% Sham might have you chilling for a whole few days in anticipation of what you want (check out Killer 6 and his 94% Sham drop) – the prize is as rewarding as anything in any game I have played.

In short, this game is the only reason I would buy a console and monitor. I currently play it on my son's console as Zer0 but would love to be able to play it at will with all six characters over the next few years – something that isn't possible as he plays numerous other games. I loved Borderlands 1 but don't like the look of BL3 as it has that samey polished style as so many other games. The slightly cartoonish look of Borderlands 2 with the black outlines has a charm that is unmatched anywhere I have seen. I reckon that Borderlands 2 would be the only game I could play for the next ten years and not get tired of it.
